Wests Ashfield was featured on Sydney Weekender on Sunday 6 August. Hosted by Mike Whitney, the show is now in its 23rd year and has up to half a million viewers each week.
The crew spent the day at our Club and the segment showcases our fantastic dining precinct: The Garden, Wongs’ and Golden Times.
Showcasing the talents of our chefs in all three restaurants, CEO Simon Cook was interviewed by Karen Ledbury on how the concept of The Garden originated and what we are all about. Karen described The Garden as “a little oasis right in the heart of the leagues club where you’re surrounded by nature. It’s like you’re dining in a greenhouse.”
The show also dined in Golden Times Chinese restaurant. “Voted amongst the top 10 yum cha in Sydney. It’s not all about the dumplings and spring rolls,” she notes. “ The main attraction has to be the huge variety of seafood, picked straight from the fish tank!”
Our hawker style noodle bar, Wongs’ was presented under the red parasols hanging from the ceiling, with the Chinese ladies hand-making wontons and buns in the glass dumpling theatre.
